Sally Stitches is an iconic character, taken from Tim Burton’s cult classic ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’. We see Sally Stitches makeup looks every single Halloween, but this has to be our absolute favorite, so here’s how you can replicate it:

The Tutorial:

  1. To begin, you must lay down your colours. On clean skin, start sketching out your general shapes, and getting as much colour as possible on there. For Sally Stitches, you’ll need lots of light blue (her skin-tone). If you want to extend the look into Sally’s clothes, like Bri has done, you’ll need some more brown and green shades. For a super-pigmented base, we recommend our Mehron Colour Cups and palettes, like the super-pigmented Tropical Palette below:

  1. Now that you have your general colours laid out, it’s time to blend. As you can see in Bri’s look, she has made Sally look very lifelike by painting the contours of her face. The nose has been thinned out with dark blue contour and white highlight, while the eyes have been enlarged with wide blue eye-bags. Use darker shades of colour for any shadows or contours, and lighter shades for your highlights. Once your contour is done, you can set your face with some setting powder to make your Halloween makeup last all night long!

  2. Time to add in your details. This is where you want to be really good at line-work. To get the same look as Bri, use a black pencil like our Dracula Face Paint Stick (below) to sketch out details like the stitches on Sally’s face and spirals on her dress. If you have some white, you can also add wide circles beneath your eyes, to make Sally’s eyes even bigger. Feel free to take as long as you need on this step, and don’t worry if your lines aren’t perfect- it’s about the overall impact!

  1. Lips are next- we recommend a handy lipstick like one of our UV Paintglow Lipsticks. Bri uses a dark red shade to match Sally’s lips in the movie. If you want to go the extra mile, you can use a dark lipliner to add some more length to the lips, mimicking the animated look of Sally’s mouth.

  1. Now our favourite part- lenses! For this look, Bri has chosen the Black Mini Sclera Lenses, perfect for getting the dark pupil of Sally’s eyes spot on! Contact Lenses are ideal for a Halloween costume, helping you get a look that truly feels real to life.

  1. Time for your finishing touches. Bri has added some long lashes for a little extra eye enlargement, and a dark red wig for hair just like Sally’s. You can add whatever you want, plus the perfect costume clothing to really take your look to the next level.

  2. You did it! Congratulations on the perfect Sally Stitches makeup, and have the best Halloween ever! Make sure to tag us in your costume posts @crazylensesnow!
