What are the cheapest contact lenses?
This depends on the brand and type of lens, but generally speaking, daily lenses are much cheaper than their reusable counterparts. You can browse for cheap lenses on our website, or check out our sale section for new clearance sales and multibuy offers.
Are contact lenses safe?
The contact lenses on our website are all absolutely safe for you to wear, although we recommend always checking with an eye care provider before purchasing, as all eyes are different. You can read a lens product page to find if the lenses are FDA-approved or CE-certified. This gives you an extra layer of security and guarantees eye safety!
How long can I wear contact lenses?
You can wear different contact lenses for different lens durations. Daily lenses are intended to be worn once only, and then disposed of, while other options, like our 30-day or 90-day contact lenses, can be re-worn over and over again. Just remember- never wear contact lenses past their expiry date, and never wear lenses for longer than 8 hours at a time.
When can I not wear contact lenses?
As we said, it’s best not to wear your lenses for too long, or your eyes will dry out. That’s why we also advise you to never wear your contact lenses overnight. You also shouldn’t wear contact lenses while showering or swimming, as the water can be harmful to the contact lens materials.
Are contact lenses uncomfortable?
Different lenses have different levels of flexibility, meaning that some will be more comfortable than others. Check out our flexibility scales on each product page for more information. If you’re looking for a beginner-friendly contact lens, aim to find a soft, flexible style, which will be more comfortable on the eye and easier to insert.
What do I do if contact lenses hurt my eyes?
Lenses can be slightly uncomfortable depending on their measurements, sizes, and prescriptions, but contact lenses should NEVER hurt. Take a look at our ‘Troubleshooting Discomfort’ guide here for detailed step-by-step instructions on how to deal with eye discomfort and irritation. Essentially, you want to ensure that you’ve gone through every possible lens care process and contact lens check. If your eyes are still hurting, we suggest removing the lenses immediately and checking with a trusted eye care provider.
How to clean contact lenses?
To clean contact lenses, you’ll need contact lens solution. This is something you only need to do with reusable lenses. Simply rinse the lenses with the solution and store them in a sterile lens case between uses.
How to put in contact lenses?
Inserting and removing contact lenses can be a little daunting if you’ve never done it before, which is why we’ve written a handy guide- read here. All you need is clean fingers and a little patience. Want to avoid using your fingers? Check out our silicone lens inserters, perfect for inserting contact lenses for the first time.
Can I wear contact lenses if I have dark eyes?
Yes! We know that it’s hard shopping with dark eyes- not all lenses are made the same, and you might be enticed by a bright, vivid colour, only to receive a pair of nearly transparent lenses that don’t show up on your eyes. That’s why we have a handy ‘lenses for dark eyes’ section, full of high-coverage, pigmented lenses that are made specifically with darker eyes in mind!
Can I wear contact lenses if I have a prescription?
You should always find lenses that match up with your eye measurements and prescriptions. This is something that you can discuss with an eye care provider, such as your optician.
