Our one day contact lenses are designed to be worn for a single use. The one day lenses are ideal for a Halloween costume or cosplay convention. Though our one day contacts are cheaper, they are not designed to be as durable as our reusable contact lenses which can be worn multiple times. However, there are many benefits to wearing one day contact lenses that we will cover in this article.

Are 1 day contact lenses better?

1 day contact lenses may be better for your eyes if you prefer very lightweight and thin contact lenses. All our lenses are made from soft flexible materials but our single-use lenses have the thinest surface. This is because they do not need to be as durable as reusable contact lenses. This breathable surface ensures your eyes stay fresh throughout the day.

If you are travelling, you may find daily contact lenses more convenient because they do not need to be cleaned and stored after use. However, it is important to remember that they do need to be soaked for at least 2 hours in fresh contact lens solution before use. This is because the storage solution is a higher concentration than regular contact lens solution.

How long can you wear 1 day contact lenses for?

You can wear 1 day contact lenses for up to 8 hours before removing them. Our daily disposable contact lenses are not designed to be worn during certain activities such as sleeping, swimming, showering, and exercising. Our costume coloured contact lenses are designed to change the colour of your eyes.

It is important to only wear daily disposable contacts for their intended duration of 1 day/8 hours because they are not designed to be able to withstand being removed and inserted into your eyes multiple times. Always follow the duration and expiry date of your contact lenses to keep your eyes safe and healthy.

What one day contact lenses are available?

This can be very convenient for travel, especially if you choose prescription coloured contact lenses.

Alternatively, you may want to buy multiple pairs of your Halloween or cosplay contact lenses so you can have 1 pair to practice, 1 pair to wear to the event, and 1 spare pair. If you have never worn contact lenses before, it is a good idea to practice ahead of time so that you can get used to inserting and removing the lenses without feeling the pressure of getting your costume ready. Due to the thin surface area, you may find it difficult to insert daily contact lenses at first. If you have tried the usual techniques and tools that can be found in our Guides and Tutorials then you may have better luck with reusable lenses. The slightly thicker surface of reusable contact lenses will be less flexible and less likely to fold. Place the lens on the end of your finger, gently pull down your lower eyelid, hold the lens on your eyeball and then release your finger. 

If you want to try contact lenses for the first time or are looking for the perfect design and colour for your cosplay or everyday aesthetic, starting with one day contact lenses can allow you to try multiple pairs with the same budget.
