There are plenty of options for Christmas costumes; from a classic Santa Claus costume or elf, to a funnier Grinch cosplay, there are plenty of places to get inspiration from in the wintertime. Dress up as a snowman, or an ice queen! In this blog, we’ll share some suggestions, as well as all the best of our festive lenses.
Contact lenses are perfect for cosplaying, as they are an easy way to elevate your look and can complete your transformation into whatever character you are portraying. Build upon your costume or makeup look with a pair of contact lenses that perfectly suit your look; here at Crazy Lenses, we have such a wide variety of costume and natural lenses, with hundreds of styles and designs available, that we have no doubt you’ll find the ideal pair in our collection.
@laurascarlettcameron really brings the festive magic to life with this adorable, crazy Christmas elf costume! Using just one of the Vampire Zombie Red Contact Lenses, we love how the lens mirrors the split-dye wig and matches the red and green patterns across the look. This cosplay looks fantastic and is great for getting you into the Christmas mood! Full of festive colors and patterns, @laurascarlettcameron really pushes the boat out with this elf look. What would your Santa’s Elf cosplay look like?
Also bringing a classic Christmas cosplay to life is @makeupby_esc. This Grinch cosplay is absolutely insane!
'How The Grinch Stole Christmas' is now a traditional children’s story, and this Dr Seuss classic has been brought to the big screen twice. Jim Carrey’s unforgettable performance as the Grinch in the 2000’s film (also titled How the Grinch Stole Christmas) solidified this movie as a Christmas classic. @makeupby_esc recreates this infamous character using the Cosplay Yellow Contact Lenses; these lenses are now unfortunately sold out, however, we have other yellow styles available that would be great for a Christmas Grinch costume!
Looking for a different sort of traditional Christmas cosplay? @emilymartistry gets inspired by festive folklore in this traditional Icelandic cautionary tale.
This look represents the story of Gryla and the Yule Cat; said to be a Giantess of the wilderness that eats misbehaving children, the giant Yule Cat was reported to eat anyone who did not have new (Arctic winter-weather-appropriate) clothes. @emilymartistry splits the makeup down the middle of the face, using two different contact lenses for this look: Cat’s Eye Yellow Costume Contact Lenses (Daily) and Gold Vampire Contact Lenses (30 Day). We love to see our affiliates getting inspiration from unusual sources, as it always leads to such beautiful and creative results!
Of course, we always love slightly spooky (or a lot of spooky) looks here at Crazy Lenses. This twisted Snowman look puts a scary twist on the friendly tradition, and @missabbiemeghan uses Mini Sclera Black Contact Lenses to achieve a terrifyingly dark and soulless stare, as if she really does have coals for eyes.
Similarly to how our other talented affiliates have been inspired by Christmas traditions, @missabbiemeghan twists this particular tradition to create a spooky look. This snowman has a scary, jagged mouth, as if the snow has ripped apart to create a cavernous black hole. The idea of twisted snowmen has certainly been experimented with in the past; however, as many associate them with a childlike sense of innocence, this feels particularly shocking.
@sparklywinona also creates a spooky Christmas look, with a mishap occurring with the tree decorations - maybe some sort of issue getting them out of the loft? With this Final Destination-esque Christmas look, plenty of fake blood and spooky props are used to help bring this special effects makeup to life. One eye is covered; however, Winona uses the Ice Blue Contact Lenses in her right eye, which stand out perfectly against the gory sfx blood and the red and gold Christmas decorations.
However, if you’re looking for a cuter Christmas makeup look, @missabbiemeghan has you covered; recreate this adorable reindeer Christmas makeup for a gorgeous yet simple costume this holiday!
@missabbiemeghan uses the Blend Hazel Contact Lenses for a softer appearance, creating a deer-like appearance with big brown eyes. To make it Christmas-themed, don’t forget the bright red nose! Rudolf may have competition with this adorable makeup.
